I paint animals that look back at you.

“I don’t invent them. They come along on their own and choose their paper.”— Christiana · the cat approves
Sometimes the brush rests, but the animals don't stop being born. Then I put the water aside and pick up wool and a felting needle.
That's how the fluffies appear — owlets, little foxes and other small creatures with serious faces and soft bellies. Unlike the watercolours, these you may even hug. They won't object. Much.
Надраскано от сърце.
I have been painting animals for as long as I can remember. Not the well-behaved animals from textbooks — the real ones: the cat that judges you silently, the rooster that lost the argument but not his dignity, the mouse that has always just heard something.
I work wet-on-wet: I let the water and the pigment sort things out between themselves and try not to interfere. I only add the gaze — that little spark that later keeps you standing in front of the sheet, wondering what exactly this creature thinks of you.
My works live with people in many places around the world and, as far as I know, they behave. If one of these creatures has looked at you the right way — write to me.
For available works, exhibitions and commissions — including a portrait of your pet. I promise to capture not just the whiskers, but the character.
